MVAS Agricultural Grants and the Scholarship Fund
Agricultural Grants
The purpose of the grant program is to assist and perpetuate agriculture on Martha's Vineyard. The society was organized in 1858 and is funded by contributions from its membership as well as annual community events.
The Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society announces their third annual grant awards. The recipients are: Breezy Pines Farm, North Tabor Farm, Kingsburry Farm, Native Earth Teaching Farm, Vineyard Open Land Foundation, Plum Hill School, Island Elderly Housing.
Scholarship Fund
The Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society has, for many years, offered a scholarship to graduation seniors. Cuching Amusements contributes $3,000.00 annually.
In order to qualify, the student must be pursuing a degree in agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, environmental studies, land conservation, veterinary medicine, culinary arts, or related studies. A committee of Agricultural Society members reviews the applications and the scholarship(s) are awarded on Class Night. This year, the scholarships were awarded to 5 Martha's Vineyard Regional High School seniors who have been outstanding in their areas of interest. They are:
5 MVRHS graduating seniors, $2,000.00 each

- Andrew Kennedy - Southern Vermont University - Radiology Technology
- Adam Lanoie - Johnson & Wales - Culinary Arts
- Stephen Perry - Culinary Institute of America - Culinary Arts
- Constance Toteanu - Culinary Institute of AMerican - Culinary Arts
